Cranbury infectious disease publication has new editor

Contagion has a new editor in chief.

The Cranbury-based digital and print publication provides infectious disease practitioners and specialists with disease-specific information designed to improve patient outcomes and assist with the identification, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases.

Jason Gallagher comes from the School of Pharmacy at Temple University, where he serves as the director of the residency program and clinical professor and clinical pharmacy specialist in infectious disease.

Gallagher has written numerous publications, abstracts and book chapters, and is an author of Antibiotics Simplified, in its fourth edition.

He has been the president of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists and currently serves on the Infectious Diseases Specialty Council of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.

“I am excited to accept this role with Contagion, and am looking forward to working to further this new publication into a leading position among infectious diseases publications, growing its utility to practitioners and enhancing its visibility in the medical community,” Gallagher said.

He will work closely with Contagion’s editorial team, and offer exclusive insights about emerging trends in the infectious disease community.

“We are honored to be joined by Dr. Gallagher whose extensive background in the field of infectious diseases will offer unique insight to our publication,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of Contagion’s parent company, Michael J. Hennessy Associates. “Through our joint efforts, we aim to deliver unparalleled infectious disease content to our readers.
