Destination Imagination has appointed an interim CEO.

The Cherry Hill-based nonprofit teaches students the creative process through hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, or STEAM, and social entrepreneurship challenges.

Michele Tuck-Ponder is the president of Ponder Solutions, which provides consulting and advising services for nonprofits in advocacy, governance, strategic planning, building and leadership development.

“Destination Imagination does incredible work in its mission to empower the next generation of creative thinkers and leaders, and I look forward to working closely with the board of trustees and this organization’s talented staff and leadership team on a strategic plan for sustainable growth and impact,” Tuck-Ponder said.

She is a former mayor of Princeton Township and has served as assistant counsel to Gov. Jim Florio as well as congressional aide to former U.S. Rep. Louis Stokes and U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg.

She was the CEO/executive director of the Girl Scouts of Delaware-Raritan Inc. She and her life partner, Rhinold Lamar Ponder, have co-authored two books, a collection of sermons on faith and love, published by Random House.
