New York-based Extell Development Co. announced that Phase II of the Barnegat 67 Town Center, a new residential and retail center in Barnegat, has broken ground and started pre-leasing.

In Phase II, the center will welcome new commercial tenants to occupy the remaining 50,000 square feet of retail space.

“We are pleased to welcome a variety of new tenants to Barnegat 67,” said Moshe Botnick, assistant vice president of development at Extell Development. “We are excited to be delivering a vibrant complex that will offer a seamless and convenient lifestyle for future residents and also serve as a new dining and shopping destination for Ocean County locals by the end of this year.”

Tenants inked during Phase I of retail leasing include an opthamology and optemetry office, Planet Fitness, BSR Physical Therapy, Mama Rosa, Jersey Mikes, Dunkin Donuts, Wells Fargo, EMD Tax, Dollar Tree and more.

Once Phase II is complete, the complex will have 100,000 square feet of retail space and 151 age-restricted apartment homes.  The homes will be located in a four-story complex and range in size from one- to two-bedroom units. Barnegat 67 will also have 20,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor rooftop amenities as well as 10,000 square feet of public space with an amphitheater.
