Panasonic Corp. of North America has acquired the ProVIEW solutions unit from a New York-based company, it announced this week.

Newark-based Panasonic, a unit of Japan-based Panasonic Corp., said the deal with Omni-ID will give it ProVIEW’s material flow management solutions for the manufacturing industry, including its e-label tags and software. The company will become part of the Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Co. of America.

“The addition of ProVIEW solutions, as well as the software and the talented team behind the technology, will greatly reinforce our efforts to provide manufacturing customers around the world with innovative (Industrial Internet of Things) solutions that make ever-greater contributions to their businesses,” Jeff Howell, president of Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Co., said in a prepared statement.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Omni-ID will continue to resell ProVIEW solutions during a transition period, Panasonic said.
