11 N.J. companies land on Forbes’ best employers in America list

Forbes announced its annual America’s Best Employers list on Wednesday, and 11 New Jersey companies earned a spot on its large employers list.

Grocery store chain Trader Joe’s was ranked the top employer on Forbes’ large employees list for 2019, coming in at No. 1 out of a total of 500.

Princeton-based NRG Energy was the highest-ranked New Jersey company at No. 44.

Here are New Jersey companies and their rankings:

88. Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick;
150. Bayer, Hanover;
190. Century 21, Madison;
255. Merck, Kenilworth;
273. Prudential Financial, Newark;
408. Quest Diagnostics, Madison;
428. Novo Nordisk, Plainsboro;
470. PSEG, Rockaway;
491. Verisk Analytics, Jersey City.

Forbes said it partnered with market research company Statista, surveying more than 50,000 workers to determine the companies liked best by employers. The ranking was divided into two lists: the top large companies (more than 5,000 U.S. employees) and the top mid-sized companies (1,000 to 5,000 employees.)
