C&W: Fujitsu General America relocates HQ to Montville

Fujitsu General America Inc. is relocating its U.S. headquarters to Montville, according to Cushman & Wakefield.

Fujitsu, a provider of ductless cooling, heating systems and VRF technology, has leased 32,000 square feet at 340 Changebridge Road, the real estate services firm announced Tuesday.

According to the firm’s Ben Brenner, who represented Fujitsu in its site search and lease negotiation with MariaGrace Iantosca, its move from Fairfield marks a “flight to quality” move for the organization.

“Fujitsu General previously housed its offices and warehousing at a tertiary flex facility,” Brenner said, adding that the warehouse operation will relocate to Piscataway. “This new headquarters offers a completely modern, Class A environment. The client empowered my team to find a property that would transform the culture of its business – with a landlord who would recognize the opportunity to partner with one of the world’s most recognizable brands.”

The property, owned by Real Capital Solutions, met both requirements, Cushman & Wakefield said.

Curtis Foster and Jerry Shifrin of the firm served as the exclusive leasing agents for the recently-repositioned 100,000-square-foot property, which was part of the former Bayer Pharmaceutical campus. It is located within close access to Interstate 80’s Exit 48.

Fujitsu General said it has selected Studio Eagle as its architect and general contractor for its fit-out. It anticipates it will occupy the space in early 2020.

“We look forward to our upcoming move and all the benefits it will bring for our team and our organization,” noted Matt Peterson, president of Fujitsu General America. “We appreciate what a positive experience the Cushman & Wakefield team created for us throughout the site search and negotiation process.”
