BioReference Labs promotes compliance exec

BioReference Laboratories announced a new vice president and chief compliance officer recently.

Sandra Cole, previously the Elmwood Park-based company’s compliance and privacy officer, will oversee a department responsible for companywide restructuring of compliance and privacy programs, along with core compliance related to things like risk assessments, metrics, analytics and corporate policy.

The company provides clinical testing services for everything from physician offices, to hospitals and employers. The laboratories also help advance drug discovery and development with disease foundations, academic and pharmaceutical partners.

“Integrity is a critically important part of an organization’s culture, and I’m excited to be part of an organization and a leadership team that focuses not just on integrity, but quality of service as well,” Cole said. “I look forward to leading BioReference’s compliance program to further enhance our culture and reputation, on the path to building a stronger business.”

Cole has more than 20 years’ experience in the field.

“At BioReference, the tenets of corporate integrity and ethics are at the core of everything we do, and there is simply no one better or more qualified to lead our compliance efforts than Sandra Cole,” said Dr. Gregory Henderson, president of BioReference Laboratories. “We look forward to working with Sandra and her staff on their comprehensive efforts, not just for our staff, but for our clients and their patients.”

Cole, who has a master’s in business administration from North Central University, is CHC-certified in health care compliance, and has completed the FBI’s Compliance Academy.
