Chubb promotes Global Casualty executive to EVP

The country’s largest commercial insurer has announced a new executive vice president.

Lou Capparelli will serve in Chubb‘s Global Casualty business unit, which covers domestic and foreign casualty insurance coverage for national and multinational companies within the North America Major Accounts division.

Capparelli will be responsible for day-to-day operations for Warren-based Chubb’s full range of global casualty coverage offerings, service and technology solutions.

The field operations and core underwriting functions responsible for delivering Chubb Global Casualty’s product suite will report to Capparelli.

He will be based in New York City.

“Lou’s industry knowledge and extensive leadership experience within Chubb Global Casualty makes him an ideal fit for this position,” said Chris Maleno, senior vice president of Chubb Group and division president of Chubb North America Major Accounts. “Under Lou’s leadership, our distribution partners and clients will continue to recognize the breadth of expertise our field network brings to the marketplace, as well as the innovations we provide to help them ensure comprehensive risk management programs are in place.”

Since 2002, Capparelli has worked for ACE Group, which bought Chubb last year.

Most recently, as executive vice president of Chubb Global Casualty’s Field Operations, he spearheaded efforts and implemented strategies that focused on distribution partners in Chubb’s U.S. and Canadian branch offices.
