GLA Communications has added a veteran public relations executive as a senior vice president, giving the Millburn-based strategic communications firm a formal presence in Washington, D.C., it announced recently.
Karen Addis has more than 25 years of experience in PR, GLA said, and in her new role will expand the firm’s client base and branding in the Washington area and nationwide.
“The decision to have an official presence in the Washington, D.C., area makes sense,” Pam Golden, GLA’s president, said in a prepared statement. “Our agency has been servicing clients in the region for a number of years and, until now, we’ve never found the right person to lead our operations in that market. Karen is a well-known fixture in the D.C. PR community, and highly regarded for her industry knowledge and strong commitment to her clients.
“In addition to having worked for several PR agencies, Karen has worked in-house for large national and international organizations, so she truly understands clients’ needs, because she has been in their shoes.”
Addis is also tasked with seeking out opportunities for strategic partnerships and providing senior-level counsel and services for major consumer technology brands.
“Pam and I have a long history,” she said in a statement. “I’ve had the privilege of working with her professionally, so I’ve seen firsthand her strong commitment to client service, her deep industry knowledge and her excellent reputation nationwide, so it’s truly an honor to join forces with her. I’m looking forward to growing the GLA brand.”
GLA provides PR and communications services to companies and associations across a variety of industries.
