Wyndham completes purchase of AmericInn brand

BALDWIN, WI/USA - JANUARY 7, 2017: AmericInn Motel sign and logo. AmericInn is an American hotel franchise chain.

Wyndham Hotel Group now has more than 8,100 hotels after completing its acquisition of the AmericInn brand and its hotel management company this week.

The move strengthens the Parsippany-based company’s position in the nation’s midscale segment, and brings its collection of brands to 20.

Industry veteran Nasir Raja will oversee the AmericInn brand’s strategic direction, daily operations and owner advisory board as the new senior vice president of brand operations.

Based in Minnesota, Raja most recently served as executive vice president of franchise development and operations for the AmericInn brand at Northcott Hospitality.

The latest addition expands Wyndham’s North American portfolio by 200 hotels and nearly 12,000 rooms. It said it wants to take AmericInn from a known Midwestern name to a national player, with potential for growth beyond U.S. borders.

AmericInn owners now will have access to unmatched sales, marketing and distribution channels, while guests will have the opportunity to explore vacation experiences at more than 30,000 hotels, condo-style suites and homes around the world through the unrivaled Wyndham Rewards loyalty program.

The company expects to fully integrate the brand by the middle of next year.

Wyndham Hotel Group assigned rights to Champion Hotels to purchase AmericInn’s owned portfolio, and, concurrent with the closing, it took ownership of the 10 owned hotels.
