Allied Beverage Group and Prologis Inc. are set to build a new distribution center in Elizabeth.
The beverage company headquartered in Carlstadt signed a long-term lease agreement for the 33-acre property on Kapkowski Boulevard.
“We are excited to have found this location and developer, Prologis, following a wide-ranging search,” said Allied Beverage CEO and President Jeffrey Altschuler. “Our new location offers a fantastic location with highway access and a strong civic community with leadership that is invested in the long-term success of their city. We look forward to joining the Elizabeth community and are confident in Prologis’ capabilities and talent to bring our vision to life on a larger scale.”
The 540,000-square-foot facility will include 90,000 square feet of office, training and conference space. The office facilities will support Allied’s sales, marketing and training capabilities while the overall investment is a commitment to strengthen Allied’s position in the industry and local community.
Breakthru Beverage Group, which recently merged its New Jersey operations into Allied Beverage Group, has been working closely with Allied on the plans for the new facility.
“Our team has been focused on designing a facility that incorporates innovative systems and technology that will drive industry-leading customer service, quality, operational efficiencies and environmental stewardship,” said Art Wirtz, executive vice president of operations for Breakthru Beverage Group.
Warehouse operations are expected to transition in the first half of 2019, with the entire facility operational by that summer.
