Toy maker leases more space in E. Rutherford

A worldwide producer of toys for kids and pets is expanding in East Rutherford.

Goffa International Corp. is leasing 26,900 square feet of industrial space at 235 Murray Hill Parkway, directly across from its current headquarters, according to NAI James E. Hanson, which negotiated the lease.

NAI Hanson’s Jeffrey DeMagistris and Thomas Vetter represented the landlord, ALJ Property LLC, in the exclusive listing.

The single-story building has 2,229 square feet of newly constructed office space, 16-foot-10-inch ceilings, two interior loading docks and 30 parking spaces.

The property is located just west of MetLife Stadium and is accessible to the New Jersey Turnpike and New York City via the George Washington Bridge and Lincoln Tunnel as well as routes 3, 17 and 120.

Goffa, founded in New York in 1981, was searching for an additional warehousing and distribution facility near its current location in East Rutherford that would enable it to continue to fill orders.

“East Rutherford’s ideal accessibility and stock of quality industrial product continues to be a large draw for new companies or, in this case, established companies looking to expand their operations,” said DeMagistris. “Sustained high demand and a constricted supply of industrial space in the Meadowlands has created an opportunity for owners of existing properties like ALJ Property. The current market and our experience with the Meadowlands market and industrial product enabled our team to negotiate a long-term lease with an established tenant on behalf of our client.”
