Ellipse penthouse breaks Jersey City rental ask record

Penthouse Five at the Ellipse, the 41-story rental by LeFrak in the Newport section of Jersey City, comes with 2,300 square feet of room, including four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a private terrace, awesome views of the New York City skyline and one unique distinction: It’s the priciest rental in Jersey City history.

The apartment, which hit the market late last week, is asking $10,995 a month.

According to the Ellipse, the top-floor unit features floor-to-ceiling views, large living and dining areas, plus the type of amenities one would expect: hardwood flooring throughout, top-shelf stainless steel appliances and free Wi-Fi.

The renter also would have access to the building’s outdoor pool, fitness center, game room, children’s playroom and co-working space.

And if the cost is out of your budget, there are other options, including other penthouses and units in the building.

Penthouse Two, at 2,024 square feet, is asking $9,495 a month. Penthouse One, at 1,603 square feet, is asking $7,195.
