Lund’s Fisheries, in Cape May, announces hires and promotions

Lund’s Fisheries announced a series of promotions and new hires as part of its expansion into new product lines and markets.

The Cape May company will focus on adding products such as seafood mixes, sauces and gourmet meals to its overall product mix, while further developing longstanding product lines such as fresh and frozen seafood and bait products.

Vice President Wayne Reichle will be promoted to president.

The 23-year veteran’s industry experience ranges from commercial fishing to sales. He will manage all factory and fleet operations, as well as Lund’s Fisheries’ domestic and foreign seafood trade.

As vice president of operations, Joe Davids will oversee the production of Lund’s Fisheries’ new products, as well as manage daily operations in Lund’s factories across the country from New Jersey to California. Davids started as a dock mechanic more than 22 years ago.

David Gray will become vice president of the Value-Added Division, where he will create products that appeal to new markets — both domestic and international. Before coming to Lund’s, he worked in the scallop business for many years, developing innovative techniques to ensure a quality product.

Randy Spencer was hired as director of sales, and will focus on developing and managing a sales team while overseeing Lund’s Fisheries’ domestic sales. He is a chef by trade, bringing a strong culinary and product development background to Lund’s. In his new job, he will focus on positioning Lund’s products and directing the firm’s efforts into an effective, domestic growth strategy.

Former President Jeff Reichle will remain chairman of the board and will pursue long-term growth opportunities for the business. Starting at Lund’s in 1974, he has been transitioning his duties to Reichle over the past 10 years.
