Martial arts academy moves to bigger building

A Hackensack martial arts academy is growing.

Roll Star, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy, will lease 2,600 square feet at 151 Hudson St., according to NAI James E. Hanson, which represented both the landlord, Walter Siegordner, and the tenant.

The 5,700-square-foot building is less than five minutes from the previous location, and allows the academy to serve more students.

The building has easy access to Interstate 80 and routes 3, 17 and 46.

“Hackensack’s continued emphasis on spurring sustainable business development has been a magnet for companies looking to start a business in the city or, in this case, relocate to a larger space to serve more customers,” said NAI’s Anthony Cassano, who brokered the deal.

“This has allowed landlords in the city to see higher property values and increased leasing from quality tenants like Roll Star. With this in mind, we were able to leverage our knowledge of the market to negotiate a mutually acceptable deal on behalf of both parties to provide a local business with the optimal space to grow.”
