Cranford accounting firm MSPC Certified Public Accountants and Advisors P.C. has acquired a Cliffside Park accounting firm, effective Jan. 1, it announced recently.
MSPC will add two principals through the merger with Ennis Hargadon LLC, bringing its total employment to 11 partners and 67 employees overall.
Both firms are extensively involved in employee benefit plans and labor unions, according to the news release announcing the deal. That segment will continue to be led in the combined firm by Patrick Trombetta, a member of the executive committee.
“This was a natural fit for us, as Ennis’ employee benefit plan expertise complements our existing practice and broadens our reach in serving labor unions and those who administer their plans,” MSPC Managing Principal Jim Flannery said in a prepared statement.
Ennis’ Cliffside Park office will remain open, as will MSPC’s locations in Cranford and Manhattan.
“We are excited to join the MSPC team,” Bill Ennis of Ennis Hargadon said in a statement. “This merger provides us with additional resources and a team of professionals who understand the unique requirements of working with labor unions and third-party plan administrators.”
