Farmingdale implant company chooses new CEO

A&E Medical, a medical implant company based in Farmingdale, has named Eric Sklar its new CEO, according to a news release Wednesday.

Sklar will replace Michael Janish, who will resume his position as chairman of the board.

“Eric is a dynamic leader and has proven to be a great steward of the A&E organization over the past two years. A&E has seen strong growth and organizational development under Eric’s oversight and we’re excited about what the future holds with Eric as chief executive officer,” Janish said. “Eric has A&E on a great trajectory and the board of directors and I look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role.”

Sklar has served as A&E’s president since 2015, while overseeing the acquisition of wholesaler Medical Concepts Europe, based in the Netherlands, as well as a cardiothoracic business unit from RTI Surgical. He has also held senior roles at Terumo Cardiovascular, based in Maryland, and Pall Corp., based in New York.

“I am honored to be appointed chief executive officer of A&E Medical,” Sklar said. “I look forward to continuing to work with our executive team and employees to provide world-class cardiac surgery products around the globe.”
