EY opens 170K-square-foot office in Hoboken

Accounting giant EY, also known as Ernst & Young, has opened a new 170,000-square-foot office and learning center in Hoboken, it announced.

The facility at 121 River St. will employ 1,000 new workers, and is just over a block down from the Hoboken PATH train.

“We are investing in strategic locations in the areas where our clients and prospects have a strong presence,” said Regional Managing Partner and Vice Chair Anthony Caterino. “Opening EY Hoboken, and our recent announcement of our future U.S. headquarters at One Manhattan West, place our talented professionals in close proximity to the prime areas where financial services companies conduct their business.”

EY has made a few other recent deals close by, among them the lease for the new One Manhattan West location, as well as two other offices in New York City.

“We are constantly exploring ways to expand our presence and show our commitment to our clients in the tri-state region,” said Vice Chair and Northeast Region Managing Partner Richard M. Jeanneret. “We believe Hoboken is a key solution in accomplishing these efforts, and we look forward to continuing to grow as an innovation leader in the NYC metro area.”

SJP Properties developed and manages 121 River St., and owns the building in partnership with PGIM. SJP was also responsible for overseeing the build-out of EY’s new office at the building.
