Influence the Influencers: Tell us who belongs on our list

At this point, we think we can state the obvious: Gov. Phil Murphy is the most influential person in business in the state.

Murphy will take the top spot on the inaugural version of the ultimate ROI Influencers list, our ranking of the top power players in the New Jersey business community.

The powers of his position make it an easy call.

Who is No. 2?

That’s not such an easy call.

In the past three weeks, we’ve heard from hundreds of you. Many already have offered thoughts on the second spot.

It’s a list of the political and the powerful. Each is connected to a job, a company, a city or a major announcement that could change dramatically influence the fortunes of the state.

We’ll list them alphabetically. Take a look and make your pick. (And feel free to go off the board and select someone else!)

  • Newark Mayor Ras Baraka
  • Amazon’s Jeff Bezos
  • AMTRAK Chairman Tony Coscia
  • First lady Tammy Murphy
  • Power broker George Norcross III
  • Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver
  • Senate President Steve Sweeney

The final list will be revealed Feb. 26.
