Red Bulls hire, promote several business execs

The New York Red Bulls announced some additions and promotions in the team’s front office earlier this week, primarily on the business side.

Tom Bowden has joined the team from the Brooklyn Nets as senior director, ticket sales and service, the Harrison-based team said in a news release. In his new role, Bowden will oversee strategy and execution in the department. He had been vice president, ticket sales and service, with Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment, parent of the basketball team, and has also worked for Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew SC.

In his fourth season with the Red Bulls, Darren Meyer has been promoted to senior director, marketing partnerships and premium services. Meyer now will be responsible for sponsorship marketing benefits and hospitality, as well as leading strategy for sponsor and luxury suite renewals. He is also a former member of the Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment organization.

In addition, five-year front office veteran Logan Smith has been promoted to director, strategy and analytics. In his new role, he will lead the club’s business analytics, strategy, customer relationship management and fan research.

Justin Baier, another former Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment employee, has been named senior manager, marketing, for the Red Bulls. He will guide the team’s creative vision, campaign development and traditional marketing efforts.

Finally, D.J. McCaffery has been promoted to senior manager, facility operations. In his new role, he will manage and operate Red Bull Arena, Red Bull Training Facility and Montclair State University Soccer Park. He will also serve as director of operations for the New York Red Bulls II squad and serve as visiting team supporter liaison for Red Bull Arena matches. McCaffery has been with the club since 2007.
