A Tinton Falls-based utility construction firm, the Kiely Family of Cos., has acquired a Toms River construction company, it announced Thursday.
Kiely said the deal for Barton Construction Corp. will bolster its water resources division, which contracts with utilities, municipalities and private contractors on projects including transmission, distribution and more.
Family-owned Barton’s specialties include fire hydrant repairs and replacements and treatment plant construction, Kiely said.
“We are excited to welcome Barton Construction to the Kiely family,” President John M. Kiely said in a prepared statement. “We continuously look to strategically grow the Kiely Family of Cos. to offer extensive resources, strict compliance and innovative solutions for our customers. The addition of Barton Construction to our family of companies significantly strengthens our ability to serve our growing water resources division, providing our customers and their stakeholders with quality service performed by our highly trained team members.”
The deal was completed Feb. 9, Kiely said. Financial terms were not disclosed.
