Newark-based software-as-a-service business UpChannel named a veteran telecommunications executive as its president of mobile business, it announced recently.

Jesus Sardinero has spent more than 30 years in the industry, at companies including Telefonica, Motorola and Siemens, UpChannel said in a news release.

“We couldn’t be more excited about having Jesus join us,” Ron Williams, UpChannel’s CEO, said in a prepared statement. “Jesus has an expansive network, and has already lined up 90 days of meetings across the major players in the industry.”

As a business-to-business SaaS company, UpChannel connects carriers and smartphone manufacturers with customers through its mobile app, UpChannel Connect.
