MJ’s, a Central Jersey-based restaurant company that specializes in American fare, announced Friday it has purchased its sixth location, on the Barnegat Bay in Berkeley Township.
The restaurant said this is the first MJ’s in Ocean County and the first waterfront location.
Richard R. Santore of Bielat Santore & Co. was the broker of the deal.
MJ’s purchased a restaurant and bar formerly known as the Cove, with 300 feet of frontage on the bay. The property includes a 13,000-square-foot restaurant and bar, outdoor deck, tiki bar and kitchen. There are also boat slips.
MJ’s anticipates opening the business on or before Memorial Day weekend after it finishes renovations.
The other MJ’s restaurants are located in Tinton Falls, Middletown, Neptune, Matawan and Spotswood.
