Ogilvy CommonHealth North America names new CEO

Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide, a Parsippany-based health care communications company, has named a new CEO for its North American operations, it announced Thursday.

Andrew Schirmer came to the company from McGann Global Health, where he served as president, overseeing the global and public health unit at the agency. He previously founded and led the company’s consumer health division, McCann HumanCare.

Schirmer, who replaces Matt Giegerich, will report to Mike Hudnall, CEO of WPP Health & Wellness, OCH’s parent company.

“Andrew exemplifies the values we hold dear: excellence in client partnership, support for our incredible people and an unbridled passion for making the world a better and healthier place,” Hudnall said in a prepared statement. “His professionally diverse background in health care marketing, consumer wellness and public health and policy positions him well to help accelerate OCH’s diversification and growth strategy moving forward.”

Schirmer said he started his career with OCH.

“There is something rather poetic about this return to my roots,” he said. “I’m really looking forward to working with the talented team at OCH to build on the agency’s past successes while also evolving to meet future challenges in health care marketing.”
