Rowan College at Burlington County’s president, placed on administrative leave shortly before the start of the academic year, has resigned, according to multiple published reports.
Paul Drayton, who became president of what was then Burlington County College in March 2015, is resigning for medical reasons, the reports said. The resignation is effective Sept. 1, and Drayton will be on medical leave until then, according to NJ Advance Media.
Drayton faced a complaint before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, according to the Courier-Post newspaper, which led to the administrative leave.
Michael Cioce has been serving as acting president since Drayton’s leave began. No plans have been announced for a permanent replacement, the reports said.
The school has campuses in Mount Laurel, Mount Holly, Pemberton and Willingboro.
