Jersey City-based Provident Bank has named a senior vice president for the market that includes western New Jersey, it announced Monday.
James Higgins, who has more than 25 years in commercial lending, will work out of the bank’s Lehigh Valley Regional Office in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. There, he will serve as SVP, relationship manager/team leader in the Commercial Lending Division.
“I am pleased to welcome Jim to our Lehigh Valley/West Jersey Commercial Lending Team,” Bruce Dansbury, executive vice president, Pennsylvania lending director, said in a prepared statement. “He brings with him extensive knowledge of the market, expertise in lending and a keen understanding of the credit needs of businesses. Having Jim on board will support our efforts to grow the loan portfolio and strengthen our presence in the market.”
In his new role, Higgins will work with companies in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania and western New Jersey to originate, evaluate and structure commercial loan transactions. He will also manage a team of relationship managers and assist with other bank functions.
He came to Provident from Sun National Bank, where he was a senior vice president and team leader.
