A pair of urology groups serving the New Jersey region have merged, they announced Tuesday, creating what they called the largest group of urologists in the United States.
Delaware Valley Urology LLC, which has more than a dozen locations in five South Jersey counties, has merged with New Jersey Urology LLC, which has 30 locations in northern and central parts of the state.
The group will retain the New Jersey Urology name, and be based out of a central office in Bloomfield and a regional office in Mount Laurel.
“We are so excited to welcome Delaware Valley Urology into our group, thereby making New Jersey Urology the largest single-specialty urology group in the country,” Dr. Martin Goldstein, a member of the NJU executive leadership team, said in a prepared statement. “This is the fifth urology group to join NJU since our initial founding in 2009. The physicians of DVU share our vision — to provide state-of-the-art urologic care in a warm and caring environment.”
The merger, which was effective April 1, will give New Jersey Urology 96 providers in 46 locations, including four cancer treatment centers.
“Although our name will change, we will remain committed to clinical excellence, compassionate patient service and exceptional care delivery,” Dr. David Sussman, DVU’s president, said in a statement. “Our commitment to our patients will always be our top priority.”
The Bloom Organization, a Florida-based health care investment adviser, assisted with the facilitation of the merger.
