AtlantiCare acquired a new urgent care center in Cape May, the health system announced Monday, and will change the name of Cape Urgent Care to AtlantiCare Urgent Care Center effective June 1.
“We are thrilled to join AtlantiCare,” said Dr. William Weisberg, owner of Cape Urgent Care. “Cape Urgent Care has been dedicated to providing high-quality, walk-in services close to home for many years, and this integration will give us access to the resources and infrastructure needed to serve more residents and visitors in our community.”
This addition grows the network of 13 urgent care facilities owned by AtlantiCare, which is part of Pennsylvania-based Geisinger Health System.
“When we met Dr. Weisberg and his team, we knew immediately that Cape Urgent Care would be an excellent addition to our group of urgent care facilities,” said Jatin Motiwal, vice president of AtlantiCare Physician Group and Regional Network. “Our mission has always been to provide our patients with accessible, comprehensive services so they can lead healthy lives, and this agreement will allow us to continue that mission on a larger scale. AtlantiCare is looking forward to offering expanded services to Cape May County-area residents and visitors.”
The acquisition allows AtlantiCare to shift urgent care services from its Rio Grande location, and expand specialty care services in the Rio Grande location.
