Bihler of America, an automation solutions company, is expanding its facilities in Phillipsburg, it announced Monday.
The company, which served the manufacturing industry and others, has two existing manufacturing plants on a 12-acre corporate campus in Warren County. Now, it plans to add a third building on the site.
The company said it will hire 50 people to manage and operate the new facility, on top of 50 it hired in 2017 at existing locations.
Work on the multiuse structure was slated to begin this month and Bihler expects it to come on line in the first quarter of next year. The building will bring Bihler’s campus up to 350,000 square feet worth of property.
“We fully expect the new building to have more than half its total output capacity committed to by the time operations begin early next year,” Max Linder, Bihler’s director of sales and marketing, said in a prepared statement.
The company cited an increased demand in manufacturing products for the need to expand.
The new facility also will include assembly areas for Bihler’s 4 Slide-NC machine production, which Linder said demonstrates the company’s commitment to the line.
