Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop and representatives of Namdar Group broke ground recently on a new tower at 87 Newkirk St. in Jersey City’s Journal Square neighborhood.
The tower, owned and developed by Namdar, is comprised of 15 stories, 132 units, 25,000 square feet of shared office space and 1,500 square feet of retail space.
This is Namdar’s first Jersey City development. Namdar is a real estate investment firm based in Great Neck, New York.
“Namdar Group strategically invests in markets that have significant growth potential, and Jersey City – particularly the Journal Square neighborhood — certainly fits that criteria,” said Effy Namdar of Namdar Group. “We’re extremely excited to embark on our first project here, and we would like to thank Jersey City leadership for supporting our vision.”
C3D Architecture acted as the architectural team on the project, Severud and Associates acted as the structural team and KEA acted as MEP engineers.
