SB One Bank names new chief banking officer

SB One Bank, the Rockaway-based commercial bank, has promoted its chief retail officer to another C-suite post, it announced Thursday.

SB One, formerly known as Sussex Bank, said Vito Giannola, executive vice president and CRO, will now be senior executive VP and chief banking officer. In his new role, he will be responsible for supporting deposit and lending growth, as well as overseeing the Investment Division.

“Vito has been an integral member of our executive leadership team since he joined the bank in 2010,” CEO and President Anthony Labozzetta said in a prepared statement. “He understands the importance of connecting with our customers. I am confident he will continue to be an asset to the organization in his new role, and further help us drive high-performing results for the bank.”

Giannola has more than 20 years in banking, and joined SB One eight years ago, working alongside Labozzetta and Chief Financial Officer Steven Fusco.

“When I started with SB One Bank, formerly Sussex Bank, our goal was to maintain strong, organic growth, but it needed to be strategic, and it needed to be in line with our vision,” he said in a statement. “We put all of our focus on delivering the best customer experience possible, and it’s proven successful.”

SB One has 14 branches in New Jersey and New York. It rebranded earlier this year, following a merger with Community Bank of Bergen County.
