Two N.J. breast care centers earn national certification

Two New Jersey certified breast care centers have been named a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence by the National Consortium of Breast Centers Inc. for the eight year in a row.

Summit Medical Group Breast Care Center in Berkeley Heights and The Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch made the list.

According to Summit Medical, the ranking is part of the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers Program and is determined by “a commitment to provide the highest level of quality breast heath care for patients.”

The National Quality Measures for Breast Centers were developed by referencing the Health Care Advisory Board’s Clinical Quality Dashboard for breast centers, published in 2004. The quality measures reflect more than two years of development and work, culminating in the adoption of more than 30 measures contained in the NQMBC Program.
