Parsippany-based Wyndham Worldwide Corp. announced Thursday that its subsidiary, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, has completed its $1.95 billion acquisition of La Quinta Holdings‘ hotel franchising and management business.
The acquisition includes more than 900 franchised hotels with a total of approximately 89,000 rooms.
Wyndham said La Quinta’s assets will expand its reach further into the upper-midscale segment of the hotel industry.
Wyndham said it now operates a portfolio of 20 lodging brands with about 9,000 franchised hotels across more than 80 countries.
La Quinta’s loyalty program, La Quinta Returns, which includes about 15 million members, will be combined with the Wyndham Rewards program, which includes about 56 million members. As a result, La Quinta clients will be able to use Wyndham’s products.
