Mimeo closing Newark facility; 116 could be laid off

Mimeo.com Inc., an on-demand printing company, is shuttering its Newark facility, costing as many as 116 people their jobs, according to a federal WARN notice issued recently.

The notice said simply that the company, based in New York, is closing the site, affecting employees including operations supervisors, press operators, bindery workers and others.

Mimeo did not respond to repeated requests for comment from ROI-NJ.

The plant would close as of July 7, according to the notice, with employees receiving compensation and benefits as expected through that date, and then severance based on employment history.

WARN notices normally cover mass layoffs or facility closings as part of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1989.
