The Red Bank-based law firm of Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla P.C. announced Thursday the formation of its new Cannabis Law Practice Group.

The practice group will be made up of “a team of attorneys with diverse experience in cannabis-related legal matters,” GH&C said. These attorneys will provide legal counsel to cannabis businesses in New Jersey, guiding them through the state’s medical marijuana laws and regulations, and business formations.

Paul T. Colella has been named co-chair of the Cannabis Law Practice Group. He will focus on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and business law.

“GH&C is uniquely suited to provide sophisticated advice and counsel to businesses in New Jersey’s cannabis industry. It’s an industry that touches on all of our core competencies,” Colella said.

Patrick S. Convery has also been named co-chair. He will focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, business transactions and financing.

“We have deep experience in corporate and business, real estate, environmental and other areas of the law, and providing counsel on cannabis-related matters is second nature to us.  We know the terrain,” Convery said.
