One River School, an art and design school for all ages, is expanding across the country, it announced Tuesday.
The Englewood-based school recently opened franchise locations in Evanston, Illinois, and Lake Oswego, Oregon. The sites in suburban Chicago and Portland, respectively, add to the growing business’s three new locations in metro New York.
“I am so excited about our ability to enter the Midwest and Pacific Northwest,” founder and CEO Matt Ross said in a prepared statement. “When we find compelling professionals who are looking for a new career opportunity and a fantastic business opportunity, our franchise program allows them to bring One River School to their community.”
One River teaches using a proprietary method, and combines that with training, marketing, facility design and support to help its franchisees build and manage their schools.
“We are really excited about providing a compelling career opportunity for arts educators,” Ross said. “Having said that, this can also be an amazing career opportunity for people who want a really fun job within the ‘business of the arts,’ and you don’t need a background in arts education to run a school or open a new franchise location.”
