The New Jersey Business & Industry Association will honor Linda Bowden, regional president of PNC Bank, with the 2018 Caren Franzini Leadership Award at the organization’s fourth annual Women Business Leaders Forum on Sept. 14 at the Newark Liberty Marriott.
“The Caren Franzini Leadership Award is an honor bestowed on individuals who inspire and empower others to achieve professional excellence,” Michele Siekerka, CEO and president of NJBIA, said. “NJBIA is proud to honor Linda, who, like the award’s namesake, is an exemplary leader both in the C-suite and the community.”
Citing her commitment to community service and corporate social responsibility, NJBIA will honor Bowden not only for her 25 years’ experience in wealth management and the banking industry, but for her support and executive leadership of the firm’s business development and community-based initiatives.
Named among the “25 Women to Watch” by U.S. Banker magazine, Bowden also currently serves on the board of the Drumthwacket Foundation, the executive committees of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Choose New Jersey, as a member of the board of trustees for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and Fairleigh Dickinson University, and as a member of the board of governors for the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University.
The Caren Franzini Leadership Award honors the legacy of the former CEO of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, who promoted exemplary entrepreneurial development and economic growth in New Jersey from 1994 to 2012. Franzini continued to serve on NJBIA’s board of trustees up until her death at age 57 last year.
