Philadelphia-based developer Dranoff Properties Inc. announced Wednesday it has welcomed the first residents at One Theatre Square, a luxury high-rise in downtown Newark.
The 22-story property at 2 Center St. sits across from the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and Military Park.
“It’s so nice to have new appliances that have never been used, and a bathroom, kitchen, flooring and walls that look like they were just unwrapped. My favorite feature is the oversized windows, which let in streams of natural light. I also have views of the Manhattan skyline from my living room and balcony and I’m just 15 minutes to Manhattan by train,” Erica Dixon, a merchandise planner with a Manhattan retailer who just moved into the property, said.
The building currently has 245 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments renting from $1,775 to $4,100 a month. Amenities include a 24-hour concierge, club room, fitness center, outdoor entertainment and a 285-car garage. There is also 12,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.
The property will also offer 24 affordable housing units to income-qualifying candidates.
