William Hill US, the American arm of the global sports book operator, has named a new chief marketing officer, it announced Monday.
William Hill, which has its New Jersey operations headquartered in Hoboken as the state rolls out sports betting, said Madison Square Garden Co. CMO Sharon Otterman will take on the role for William Hill US.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sharon to our rapidly-expanding team at William Hill, particularly during such an exciting time in our growth process,” CEO Joe Asher said in a prepared statement. “Sharon is a proven leader, and we are thrilled that we could pull her away from one of the most high-profile jobs in sports marketing to join William Hill.
Before serving as MSG’s executive vice president and CMO, Otterman was senior VP and CMO at NBC Universal from 2009 to 2015. Prior to that, she was VP of marketing for ESPN.
“The popularity of sports betting has never been higher,” she said in a prepared statement. “I am thrilled to join William Hill, the international leader in this industry, to help serve an expanding, engaged customer base.”
William Hill currently runs two sports books in New Jersey, at Monmouth Park racetrack in Long Branch and Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City.
