Jake Lehmann is managing director of Friedman CyZen LLC, cybersecurity advisers owned by accounting and advisory firm Friedman LLP.
We asked him about the cybersecurity risks facing local businesses selling their goods and services online.
“No business is immune to cyberattacks, but 40 percent of all attacks target businesses with less than 500 employees. With more local businesses moving their commerce online, we recommend taking steps to train employees about the signs of attack. They should also guard against wire fraud, conduct due diligence on third-party payments providers and limit which employees have access to sensitive data.”
