Vision Real Estate Partners has completed the first phase of a multimillion-dollar retrofit and expansion of Barclays Village in Whippany for owner/operator Barclays Capital, it announced recently.
The capital improvements at the former Crossings at Jefferson Park were focused on renovating the 175,000-square-foot Building 400 and the standalone amenities center, Building 100.
Barclays Capital will now employ more than 1,500 people at the Class A office campus, formally at 115 S. Jefferson Road. The financial services firm purchased the 65-acre, 525,000-square-foot multitenant campus from a joint venture between Vision and Rubenstein Partners in June 2017.
The company, which was an anchor tenant at the campus, retained Mountain Lakes-based Vision to lead the capital improvement program.
“Barclays Village continues to serve as an ideal example of the reinvention of New Jersey’s suburban office market, and our work at Vision in creating distinctive work/play environments,” Ross Chomik, Vision managing partner, said in a prepared statement. “We are pleased to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony with Barclays and state and local leaders, and proud of the ever-evolving success of this transformed asset.”
Officials from Barclays, Vision and the government took part in a ribbon-cutting recently.
