The football stadium on Rutgers University‘s campus in Piscataway will open its 2018 season on Saturday with a new name, Rutgers Athletics announced Thursday.
HighPoint Solutions Stadium will now be known as HighPoint.com Stadium to coincide with the company’s rebranding efforts.
“Rutgers and HighPoint have shared a long-standing successful partnership since Tom and Mike joined the Scarlet Knights family in 2011,” Pat Hobbes, director of athletics, said. “We are excited to help support this next chapter in High Point’s evolution as a company and we look forward to continuing to work together as they make strides as innovators in the technology industry.”
HighPoint purchased the naming rights to the 52,454-seat Rutgers Stadium venue in 2011. The school said hundreds of thousands of people visit the stadium throughout the year for a number of events, including high school football games, convocations, Rutgers football games and other events.
“HighPoint is proud of our partnership with Rutgers and excited to see the updated stadium,” Tom Mendiburu, co-founder at HighPoint, said. “My brother and I grew up in New Jersey watching the Scarlet Knights and never dreamed we’d be able to directly impact and support the program. HighPoint is deeply committed to not only our customers, but also to the communities that we serve.”
