Lassus Wherley wealth management firm acquired by Peapack-Gladstone Financial

Peapack-Gladstone Financial Corp., the parent of Peapack-Gladstone Bank, has acquired a longstanding women-owned wealth management firm, it announced this week.

New Providence-based Lassus Wherley’s co-founders, Diahann W. Lassus and Clare E. Wherley, will remain as president and CEO, respectively, of the new Peapack-Gladstone subsidiary. Their entire team will remain, as part of Peapack Private, the Bedminster-based bank’s wealth management division.

Lassus Wherley has been in business since 1985, handling financial planning, investment management, tax preparation and other services for clients including individuals, families and charitable organizations, among others.

“Lassus Wherley is a uniquely talented firm,” John P. Babcock, president of Peapack Private, said in a prepared statement. “They share our core values and our vision of putting clients first, working as one team and offering best-in-class solutions. We are proud to have the entire Lassus Wherley team join our organization and represent Peapack Private at the highest level.”

Park Sutton Advisors LLC served as exclusive financial adviser to the bank.
