Newark-based Panasonic Corporation of North America announced Tuesday that Jessica Hodkinson has been appointed general counsel and secretary.
Hodkinson will report to Tom Gebhardt, chairman and CEO of the company.
“Jessica is an exceptional talent who has been an integral part of our legal team,” Gebhardt said. “Jessica has helped us navigate the constantly-changing landscape of our business, and we look forward to her leadership as we pursue continued growth and drive future successes.”
In this role, Hodkinson will lead and manage all of the company’s legal functions, including compliance, litigation, labor and employment, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Hodkinson joined Panasonic in 2013 as assistant general counsel then was named to chief counsel – litigation, labor and employment. She was then promoted to deputy general counsel in April 2018 and was named interim general counsel this summer.
Before Panasonic, she held in-house roles at Avaya Inc., Pfizer Inc. and American Standard Companies Inc. She also spent time at various law firms focused on commercial litigation.
