Covanta Holding Corp., a Morristown-based waste and energy solutions company, has completed its previously announced $45 million acquisition of a business that provides operating and maintenance services to Palm Beach County’s Solid Waste Authority, it announced Tuesday.
The former subsidiary of Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises Inc. provides the SWA of Palm Beach County with services at two energy-from-waste facilities in West Palm Beach.
“This acquisition is an excellent opportunity for us to apply our breadth of operating experience and maintenance capabilities to two high-performing EfW facilities in a market we know well,” Covanta CEO and President Stephen J. Jones said in a prepared statement. “We look forward to building a strong and successful partnership with the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County and are happy to be adding talented and experienced employees to the Covanta family.”
The deal gives Covanta eight EfW facilities in Florida.
