CrossFit expands in N.J. with new location in Jersey City’s Journal Square

Journal Square Health & Fitness, a gym that is home to CrossFit Accomplished, has signed an entire building lease in Jersey City’s Journal Square business district, Colliers International announced Wednesday.

Renovations are currently underway at the 6,100-square-foot building at 2800 Kennedy Blvd. The new facility is slated to open by early 2019.

Colliers International NJ LLC Inc. represented CrossFit, the tenant, in the deal. Bobby Antonicello of Grid Real Estate represented the landlord. G3 Architects is designing the interior of the building.

Nancy Erickson, executive managing director based at Colliers’ Parsippany office, and Jennifer Flores, associate, represented CrossFit and are looking for more expansion opportunities in Hudson County for the brand.

“CrossFit Accomplished’s expansion in Jersey City reflects the tremendous popularity of the sport of fitness,” Erickson said. “There is a growing community of people interested in a fitness lifestyle, and CrossFit Accomplished continues to attract new members, so this was an opportune time for them to expand their reach and fill a need in this market.”

The three-story building is within close access to the Journal Square Transportation Center.

Both affiliated gyms are owned by Russell Francis, who operates CrossFit Accomplished Jersey City at 109 Christopher Columbus Drive.

“We are really excited to bring CrossFit to Journal Square, and we’re looking forward to introducing to the community a different style of working out with measurable results, in a fun and engaging environment,” Francis said.
