Verizon names Bartlett to lead corporate development at Verizon Ventures

Verizon Communications Inc. announced Tuesday it has named Chris Bartlett the new senior vice president for corporate development at Verizon Ventures, the company’s venture capital unit.

Bartlett, who will be based in Basking Ridge, will be responsible for joint ventures, strategic investments, acquisitions and divestitures.

He is replacing John Doherty, who left the company in June to pursue other opportunities.

Prior to Verizon, Bartlett was a managing director at Morgan Stanley since 2004. Before that, he worked at Bear, Stearns & Co. and at Arthur Andersen LLP.

“Chris brings a wealth of experience to Verizon,” Matt Ellis, Verizon chief financial officer, said. “We’re pleased to have him join our team as we position the business for future growth.”
