The Summit Medical Group MD Anderson Cancer Center has officially opened in Florham Park, Summit Medical Group announced Wednesday.
The ribbon-cutting for the 130,000-square-foot outpatient cancer facility at 150 Park Avenue was joined by state and local officials, health system and oncology leaders and community members.
The new facility will bring new treatment protocols, clinical trials and research to residents in North Jersey and the surrounding area.
“When it comes to fighting cancer, we’re arming our patients with everything we’ve got. Summit Medical Group MD Anderson offers a powerful, integrated partnership that features an extraordinary collective of oncology expertise and innovation that will transform cancer care in our community,” Jeffrey Le Benger, chairman and CEO of Summit Medical Group, said.
Gov. Phil Murphy said the center will be on the forefront of New Jersey’s fight to end cancer.
“Summit Medical Group is a leader in its field, boasting more than 800 medical professionals across our Garden State who work hard to maintain its well-earned reputation for excellence in caregiving. The partnership with the world-renowned MD Anderson will add to Summit’s commitment to high-quality care by providing cancer patients with access to comprehensive, cutting-edge treatments. This new state-of-the-art facility will serve as a bulwark on the frontlines in New Jersey’s fight to end cancer,” said Murphy in a letter presented at the ceremony.
Summit Medical group is a multispeciality physician group which provides its patients with comprehensive cancer care.
