Integrated interior solutions firm dancker in Somerville announced Tuesday it has acquired Hyperspace, a Baltimore-based Steelcase furniture dealer.
The acquisition, which is dancker’s second in Maryland, will make dancker the only Steelcase dealer in Baltimore.
“We are very proud to be adding the talented team at Hyperspace to our organization and expanding our footprint in and around Baltimore,” Steven Lang, dancker CEO and president, said. “To support our clients and partners, dancker is on course to becoming the largest integrated interior solutions provider in the mid-Atlantic. Baltimore is the perfect location for achieving this goal and we look forward to working with our clients and growing relationships with the commercial real estate and design community. We anticipate and are committed to a long-lasting presence in this great city.”
Under terms of the acquisition, Hyperspace employees will join dancker’s team.
Nathan Kooi, vice president and general manger for dancker’s mid-Atlantic region, will work to enhance sales, clients and market presence in the region.
“Hyperspace was built on 45 years of providing exceptional service and great products, so we are especially excited to join an organization that also has a long, proud history and outstanding reputation. The opportunity for us also means our clients can benefit from working with an industry leader able to provide fully integrated architectural, furniture, technology, and logistical solutions,” Treva Ghattas, principal of Hyperspace, said.
