Synchronoss appoints new chief commercial officer

Synchronoss Technologies Inc., a Bridgewater-based cloud services company, announced Tuesday it has named Jeff Miller its new chief commercial officer, effective Oct. 22.

Miller will replace the company’s current chief commercial officer Bob Garcia, who is leaving to pursue other interests.

“Over the years, Bob has served as a mentor, advisor and friend to employees, and his guidance and knowledge will not be easy to replicate. Bob was one of Synchronoss’ first employees and has been a vital member of our leadership team including serving as president and chief operating officer and helping to launch the company in August 2000,” Glenn Lurie, Synchronoss CEO and president, said.

Prior to Synchronoss, Miller was at Ideal Industries Inc. as its group president leading its Technology Business Group. Before that, he was at Motorola Mobility serving in a number of executive-level positions including corporate vice president and general manager, North America operations.

“We are very excited to have Jeff join the team,” Lurie said. “As an experienced leader, Jeff is the perfect person for this role and will be a tremendous addition to our culture given his passionate work ethic, focused purpose on goals and objectives, and the care he extends to the people he works with and customers he supports. Jeff will no doubt help drive Synchronoss to the next level of growth, and I am delighted to have him on board.”

Miller has also held a number of nonprofit and industry-related board roles, including with the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association, the Motorola Foundation, the CTIA Foundation and the Economic Club of Chicago.
